Residential vs Mobile The Shock of Infrastructures

Are you still buying pools of millions of shared residential IPs? Find out why this approach costs more and suffers a dramatic failure rate against today's anti-fraud AIs.

The Collapse of Residential IPs

The era where you could scrape anything with a P2P residential pool is over.

The Residential model (Bright Data, Oxylabs)

  • Polluted IP pools: The IP you are using might have been used for a DDoS attack 10 minutes ago.
  • Unstable latency: Your request passes through an individual's PC via an infected SDK.
  • Up-to-date anti-bots: Cloudflare knows how to detect the behavior of P2P proxy networks.
  • Pay per GB: Your errors (403, 429) are billed to you.

The 5G Mobile Architecture (Proxym)

  • Ultimate Trust Score: The IP belongs to a major mobile network and is shared with real humans (CGNAT).
  • Dedicated = Clean: You are the only one using this router, nobody pollutes the IP.
  • Rack infrastructure: Datacenter-grade latency (<10ms) but Mobile IP.
  • Flat Rate Billing: Scrape without counting.

Frequently Asked Questions: Residential vs Mobile

Why do anti-bots let Mobile IPs through?
Because of Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT). On the fixed (residential) network, one IP = one household. On the mobile network, one IP = thousands of simultaneous users. If an e-commerce site blocks a mobile IP, it potentially prevents 5000 legitimate customers from buying. Systems like Datadome therefore have a much higher tolerance for Mobile ASNs.
Is a dedicated 5G router enough for my volume?
It depends on your threads. A Proxym router gives you 1 IP at any given time. If you need to make 100 parallel requests with different IPs, you will need 100 ports (routers). However, since the block rate is close to 0%, you often don't need to change IP for every request.
How to compare the price per GB of residential with the Proxym plan?
A good residential proxy costs about $10 per GB. Our 1 Dedicated Port plan costs €80/month for 200 GB. If you consume 200 GB with a residential provider, you will pay $2000. The return on investment is immediate.
